Uses: The compound is ready source of carbon dioxide, for leavening in baking, extinguishing fire in dry chemical fire extinguishers, acting as a reagent & a strong buffering agent in medications. Potassium bicarbonate is an effective fungicide against Powdery Mildew and is used in organic farming. It is used to control several important fungal diseases of grapes; strawberries, tomatoes, cucurbits.
When used as a nutritional supplement, it is reported to give increased feed consumption and weight gain in livestock.
